Located at the access road which connects Lorong Aman to the Pulau Tikus main road (behind Burmah House), the cafe occupies the building that was formerly home to the Old Xaverians’ Association.
If you’re not familiar with the area, slow down as you drive and you will notice the Blue Diamond Club signage peeking out between the multi-storey office block of Burmah House and the double-storey row of shophouses that houses a dental clinic, CIMB Bank branch and Baskin Robbins outlet among others.
The cafe, an independently run extension of the club, was opened in early February after extensive renovations.
Clean lines and dark panelling give the air-conditioned dining area a modern feel, with mood lighting that constantly changes colour.
The cool and comfortable environment makes it a refuge for those who don’t like raucous and noisy eateries.
Throughout the day, it serves up an array of simple, down-to-earth western and local fare, either as stand alone ala carte dishes, or as all-inclusive set meals beginning at just RM10.90 nett.
Definitely an attractive pro-position for office workers or those on a tight budget, the sets offer several choices of main courses, accompanied by soup of the day, dessert and drink.
Otherwise, go ala carte with dishes like Chicken Maryland, Tenderloin Steak with Red Wine Sauce, Salmon Fillet with Basil Pesto and Grilled Lamb Chop with Rosemary Sauce.
Oriental offerings include Tom Yam Fried Bee Hoon or Bee Hoon Soup with Fish Fillets, Fried Ee Foo Mee with Seafood and Nasi Goreng Istimewa, amongst others.
The outlet uses snapper fillets for both its western and local fish offerings instead of dory.
After your meal, head upstairs to the karaoke lounge, open daily from 4pm till midnight, and sing your heart out.
Its happy hours are from opening till 9pm, with attractive offers on beers and other beverages.
A live band also performs from Monday to Saturday from 10pm to 1am.
The Blue Diamond Cafe also caters for in-house functions, be they birthday parties or company gatherings, from RM25 per pax.
You can chose food served either buffet style or as western set dinners.
The cafe is open daily from noon to 10pm (last order).
