Ingredients 材料:
Filling (馅料)
- cooking oil 食油
- garlic 蒜米
- minced meat 肉碎 100g
- carrot 胡萝卜
- Bang Kuang (Yam Bean) 沙葛
- pinch of salt 少许盐
- sugar 糖 1 tbsp
Pumpkin Bun Skin (金瓜包皮)
- pumpkin 金瓜 200g
- yeast 酵母 5g
- water 清水 4 tbsp
- plain flour 普通面粉 280g
- wheat starch 澄粉 20g
- caster sugar 细砂糖 40g
- pinch of salt 少许盐
- few drops water 几滴清水
- corn oil 玉米油 20m
Filling
Saute garlic, add in mince meat, salt, sugar, y bean n carrot. Add in water. Cook for 8 minutes. Dish out.
Pumpkin
Steam 280gm pumpkin for 10 min, mashed pumpkin into puree.
Pau Skin
In a bowl, put 280gm plain flour, 20gm wheat starch, 40gm castor sugar n a pinch of salt.
Add in mashed pumpkin.
In a separate bowl, put in 5 gm yeast n 4 tbsp water. mix.
Pour into mixture n mix well to form a dough. Knead n let it sit for 7 mins.
Roll them into a log.
Cut into pieces.
Roll into balls.
Use rolling pin to thin the skin.
Wrap with fillings. Sit for 25 mins.
Steam 10 minutes over high heat.
(Off flame n rest pau in steamer for 5 minutes - my method)
